Chad moves up to #4 after starting at #6 as a freshman. He began playing tennis when he was 8 years old and will likely be the No. 1 player for FDHS his last two years of high school.

Chad’s most memorable time on the team in 2001 was his Valley District win against Chris Northrup of Lee High School. He especially enjoys the mix of personalities on the team.

2001 Record
Chad had a fine year with a record of 11-4 playing #5 and #6. His best match was in the Valley District Championships where he creamed previously undefeated Chris Northrup from Lee High 6-1, 6-0.

2002 Record
Chad has a great sophomore year, ending up with a 13-2 record in singles and 12-2 in doubles. His most memorable match of the season was against Loudoun County in the Regional tournament where he played superbly. Two other memorable wins came at #2 doubles with Brandon, where they won the decisive 5th point in both the Valley District semifinals and finals.

This summer Chad will be playing in several tennis tournaments, honing the skills which he’ll need at the top of the ladder next year. He hopes to find a job. He also has an exciting mission trip to Thailand planned plus a family trip to Colorado.

Chad is an agressive tennis player who likes to pound the ball and attack the net. He serves well and hits good groundstrokes. His backhand and forehand are equally strong, enabling him to hit fine passing shots. He is very athletic and covers the court well.

After high school, Chad would like to attend Virginia Tech and major in Architecture.
