Through publicly available websites I was able to find several routes of my ancestry. I am greatly indebted to the work of many people, mostly unknown to me, for the ancestries I have discovered below. One resource I owe much gratitude to is cousin Beverly Eller Aker who has done a monumental job of maintaining the Hill family genealogy. I’ve traced several of the paths below and trust that they are accurate. Also, I’ve included a complete ancestral tree for Lynn’s family back to 1726 in Germany that was done by one of her cousins.
- An ancestral route for 32 generations through the Hill, Dixon, McMillan, Gambrill, Nall, Holloway, Mathews, Greville, Glanville, and Greneteville families all the way back to the year 1026 in France and England. Included in this path is the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia from 1656 – 1660, Samuel Mathews
In 2009 I gave to each of my children a book written by Bev Aker which had family genealogy plus lots of other anecdotes. That book may be viewed by clicking here.
And here is a family tree of four generations of the Cook family.
