Mark jumped up the challenge ladder quickly during March of his freshman year and anchored #6 before the season began. He later traded places with James P. then moved back to #6 at the end of the season. He is a smart tennis player who knows how to find a way to win. Like his brother Scott, Mark is quick and athletic. He prefers to do his damage to opponents from the baseline and will not be out-hustled by anyone.
Mark had a learning freshman year on the team. His strokes developed a lot and he was much improved by the end of the season. He played in 11 matches at #6 including the Stuarts Draft match in which he came back from 7-2 and 9-5 deficits to outlast his opponent in a tiebreaker and win the match.
This summer, Mark hopes to play in a couple of tennis tournaments, visit in Texas, and has a wonderful mission trip planned with a group from his church to Thailand.
Though this is his first year on the team, Mark served as a manager for the team all of his middle school years. He enjoys having fun with his teammates and winning.
