Jim prepares to serve in a tough quarterfinal match against the Northwest District runner-up, Roy Mace from Liberty High School.
Jim wins the first set 6-3 but has to work for every point against the ultra-consistent Mace.

Jim pulls out a hard fought 6-3, 6-1 win to advance to the Regional II semifinals.

Scott prepares to whack a return against Moran and Duffy, Dulles District runners-up in the doubles quarterfinals of the Region.

They blow past the duo from Stonebridge High School 6-0 in the first set.

The second set is a little tougher for the undefeated Indians.

But they pull out a 6-0, 6-3 win in the quarterfinals.

Jim’s semifinal opponent is the Dulles District Champion, Brian Jordan, from Potomac Falls High School. Jim goes out early to a 5-3 lead, then holds on to take the first set 6-4.

The second set is a replay of the first as Jim holds on to win another 6-4 set. This runs Jim’s individual record for the season to 18-1 and sends him into the Regional Finals.

 

 

Jim smacks a backhand against Stillwagon in the Region II Championship match.

Stillwagon won the first set 6-2.
 

And the second set 6-1.
 

 

 

Jim receives his award for being the Region II Runner-up.

 

 

 

Scott and Jim prepare to take on the defending state doubles champions from Handley, Stillwagon and Hicks.
The first set went to Handley, 6-4.
And the second set 7-5. Scott and Jim ended the season with a 17-1 record.
